*What is MPS (Microcurrent Point Stimulation) Therapy?
To treat chronic and acute soft tissue pain and scars in an all-natural, drug-free way, I specialize in using Microcurrent Point Stimulation (MPS therapy). Using Dolphin NeuroStim™ portable pain relief units, I apply microcurrent impulses to trigger/acupuncture points, providing quick and effective pain relief for a number of clients.
When I use MPS therapy, I integrate the principles of acupuncture with modern neurological science to provide an all-natural, holistic approach to treating the body and mind. The effective results of this combination are recognized across North America.
MPS is the world’s first integrative therapy developed exclusively to "deregulate the Autonomic Nervous System and fight chronic pain". The theoretical underpinnings of MPS Therapy are based on combining the therapeutic values of acupuncture, osteopathy,and neural therapy with modern neurology.
Working with MPS therapy and the Dolphin NeuroStim™ in client sessions can provide a number of benefits for clients, including:
- Relief from chronic pain
- Treatment without drugs or invasive procedures
- Quick treatment, as MPS Therapy can be applied quickly, usually within 3 to 20 minutes
**What is Scar Release Therapy (SRT) with Microcurrent Point Stimulation (MPS)?
In life we often experience injuries, including traumas such as surgeries, broken bones, burns, sprained joints, torn muscles, inflammation, even tattoos, and of course our very first scar (our navels), and even more. Even in the early days of my practice, as I worked with a variety of clients, I quickly realized that scars appeared to affect how clients' bodies reacted to my hands-on work. The Center for Pain & Stress Research's patented Scar Release Therapy (SRT), is a safe, clinically tested/proven solution for problems associated with scarring.
Often, scars result in a tightening of the surrounding tissue that can restrict movement and decrease function in the body. These restrictions not only affect the joint, limb or surrounding areas, but they can affect the underlying organs too. Because scar tissue has the potential to spread in any direction, including internally, scars and related adhesions often compress nerves, affect muscle function, change energy flow, and affect blood and lymph moving through the affected area(s).
Releasing a scar can:
- improve mobility,
- diminish complications,
- and decrease pain often associated with scars.
SRT is a simple, painless and highly effective method for reducing the negative influences of scars. I use Micro Point Stimulation (MPS) Dolphin NeuroStim™ portable pain relief units on tissue surrounding scars. MPS releases scars and is especially effective in treating large, deep, painful scars. The term "release" refers to the releasing or relaxing of contracted and tightened tissue. SRT uses the latest advances in science to address both chronic pain and dermal scarring after any trauma or surgery. It applies Microcurrent Point Stimulation, a patented solution based on the scientific concept of increasing skin’s inter-cellular metabolism, protein synthesis, and healing function to re-awaken the skin’s ability to self generate. Targeting direct cellular stimulation of microcurrent waves through the scars, this simple and discomfort-free procedure works by reducing dermal trauma, adhesions, and fascia restrictions. SRT is proven to deliver 73.2% pain relief after a single application. (IJCAM 2017)
In general, this treatment is painless, with visible changes in the appearance of the scar and a gradual reduction in the tightness and restriction of a scar site. Most clients experience significant improvement in appearance, color, soreness, and tissue mobility in 1 to 3 sessions. The expected duration of treatment will depend on how long the client has had the scar, how deep it is, and the severity of any pain the client may be experiencing. Eight sessions pf SRT on a specific area is generally accepted as full treatment, although "everybody and every body is different".
There is no expiration date for when a scar can be released. Just because a scar has existed since a client's birth doesn't mean it won't change and improve with SRT.
**What is Cesarean-Section Scar Release Therapy (SRT) with Microcurrent Point Stimulation (MPS)?
As a simple and highly effective scar reduction treatment for reducing the negative influence of scars, SRT with Micro Point Stimulation (MPS) Dolphin NeuroStim™ portable pain relief units provides successful release therapy for Cesarean-Section scars. In the US alone, the C-Section procedure has one of the highest numbers of surgeries performed, affecting 1.3 million women each year. Using the latest scientific advances to address both chronic pain and dermal scarring that occur post-surgery, SRT applies Microcurrent Point Stimulation (MPS) to re-awaken the skin’s ability to self generate. SRT is effective for scar reduction by helping to reduce the shape and size of scars.

Modern science understands that scars, including C-Section scars, impact the body in a variety of negative ways. Scars restrict or bind the fascia, muscles, nerves, bones, organs and systems. Like an internal straight jacket, scars produce adverse influences throughout the entire body structure. For example, they block the movements of blood, lymph, and energy circulation, which can interfere with health and wellness. Scars also create an environment for sickness and pain by up-regulation of the sympathetic (fight/flight) nervous system. In addition, scars act as stress agonists (increasing stress in the body),
In a recently published study, only a small percentage of the chronic pain experienced by patients was localized at the scar site. Instead, in a group of C-section patients studied, 80-90% of the chronic pain they experienced was referred pain, pain that is distant (far-removed) from the C-Section scar site. Not surprisingly, published scientific studies reveal that Chronic Post-Surgical Pain (CPSP), as well as chronic back, shoulder, and neuropathic pain, are all linked to C-Section scarring. Furthermore, using SRT without discomfort, I can safely treat the stress, adhesions, fascia restrictions, and even the appearances that also result from C-Section scarring.
Study facts reveal that:
- 40% of women with C-Section scars experience chronic back pain
- 20% of women with C-section scars experience shoulder-neck pain
- 82.52% of women with C-section scar-related pain who are treated with Micro Point Stimulation (MPS) Dolphin NeuroStim™ C-Section Scar Release Therapy (SRT) experience relief after a single application. (OGN 2018)

***What is Dolphin Micro Point Stimulation (MPS) NeuroStim Vagal Nerve Stimulation?
To enhance clients' vagal nerve tone, I use Micro Point Stimulation (MPS) Dolphin NeuroStim™ portable pain relief units, supporting body processes that provide clients with increased relaxation.
The "Rest & Digest" part of our nervous system, called the Parasympathetic Nervous System (PNS), slows the heart rate, increases intestinal and glandular activity, and relaxes the sphincter muscles so that we can digest our food, relax and sleep. On the other hand, the Sympathetic Nervous System is the "Fight, Flight or Freeze" side of us, the one that shuts down digestion and increases heart rate and respiration so we can react in a crisis. Together these two systems constitute our Autonomic Nervous System (ANS).
When the Parasympathetic System/"Rest & Digest" side dominates our bodies, we increase our salivation and other digestive activities so that we can digest and process our food. We breathe slowly with a lowered heart rate and blood pressure. We relax. This side of our nervous system is the healing part of our ANS.
The vagus nerve, called the “wandering nerve”, controls 80% of our parasympathetic/"Rest & Digest" response. This nerve is our longest nerve. It travels down through the front of the body, innervating vital organs, including digestive system organs, for our health and wellness.
When the Sympathetic Nervous System goes into over-drive survival mode with "Fight, Flight & Freeze", it signals the release of the stress hormones cortisol and adrenaline into our bodies. When the crisis is over, if everything works as planned, the vagus nerve operates like the "brakes" for the Nervous System and instructs the body to “Chill Out!”. Those with stronger vagal tones can reduce the production of the stress hormone cortisol and then rest, recover, and restore quickly. Conversely, if our vagal tone isn't as strong, then we may not rest, recover and restore optimally.
When the vagal nerve stimulation is strong, health benefits increase as our bodies can:
- decrease inflammation when the stimulated vagus nerve sends anti-inflammatory signals to various parts of the body;
- reduce muscle tone, muscle tension, and trigger point tenderness;
- improve cardio-vascular circulation and lymph flow as the vagus nerve, linked to stress, anxiety, and fear, sends information from the gut to the brain (that “gut feeling”), promoting recovery from stressful, worrisome, and scary situations;
- support relaxation because the vagus nerve initiates 80% of the body's relaxation mode; and
- reduce pain.
A large number of research studies now support Non-Invasive Vagus Nerve Simulation (VNS) as a concept of passively or actively electrically stimulating a branch of the vagus nerve.
VNS has been reported to:
- improve heart rate,
- activate the parasympathetic system,
- reduce inflammation,
- improve respiratory dysfunction, and
- reduce pro-inflammatory cytokines.
Specifically, using my Dolphin MPS NeuroStim units as a Vagal Nerve Stimulator has been proven by science to activate the parasympathetic system, reducing lung inflammation and the presence of pro-inflammatory cytokines, improving respiratory dysfunction.
In my practice I use Dolphin MPS Vagal Nerve Stimulation for
- pre-bodywork calming therapy with clients to relax muscle tone, increasing both cardiovascular and lymphatic circulation,
- reduction of both stress and discomfort for clients,
- improved respiratory function, and
- to support clients' immune systems.
